For the fourth time in the 2014-15 season, Dale Shilleto has romped to victory in a Tyrepower 600 Super Series round, and on this occasion it was last Saturday night at Kingaroy Speedway for the eighth round.

After dominating the opening three rounds, Shilleto, who is the current Queensland State Champion and Victorian Speedweek Series Champion, hadn’t appeared in victory lane since then up until the weekend. Shilleto was one of the best performers during the heat races earlier in the night and qualified second for the 20-lap feature race. From the drop of the green flag, he powered to the lead and then went on to dominate all the way through to the fall of the chequered flag.

Behind a triumphant Shilleto was Kristin Brown and Nathan Pronger in second and third place respectively. Brown had started from position six in the field, while Pronger came from the outside of the fourth row.

Kaydon Iverson finished just off the podium in fourth ahead of Charlie Brown, an impressive Scott Farmer (who had started from position 11), Bryn Upshall, Brooke Wanless, Adrian Farrell, Royce Harvey and the final finisher Tristan Johnson. The latter had qualified a strong seventh, but during the feature race and consequently finished down the order.

Cody Maroske had qualified on pole position for the feature race, but while running strongly in second, he was forced out on the 11th lap after making contact with the wall. Earlier in the feature race, Phill Roberts retreated to the infield after only three laps.

Following dramas in their heat races, Grant Harvey, Antony Schofield, Ken Newton and Gary Edwards were unable to take their places in the feature race.

In the heat race action, the three rounds of heat races saw Maroske win two of them, while single wins were shared between Shilleto, Charlie Brown, Iverson and Wanless.

The ninth round of the Tyrepower 600 Super Series will be fought out this Saturday night (March 7) at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway.
