Formula 500’s are again set to tackle the Moore Engineering Murray Bridge Speedway for the running of the Murray Bridge Championship on March 20. An increased prizemoney schedule with $500 to win is sure to lure a competitive field of cars from SA and from Victoria. This is considering that there is no F500 racing in Victoria on March 20, and cars will be heading to Alice Springs for the Territory Title on March 27 and the Australian Title the following (Easter) weekend.
The format will include two rounds of heats and a two dash system, where qualifying cars 5-10 will race the first six-lap dash, with the first two across the line joining the tail of the top four cars in the second dash. This will determine the first five rows of the 20 lap final. The remaining field will be sorted by qualifying points.
Wingless Sprints will also race for $500 to win thanks to LMC Concrete Products, while Lightning Sprints, Street Stocks and Juniors are also programmed.
Teams are encouraged to contact Murray Bridge Speedway on 08 8532 1150 to nominate prior to Monday 15th March. Nominations may be left on the recorded message bank if the office is unattended. Alternatively, email contact may be made at speedwaymb@lm.net.au
The program will kick off with hot laps for F500’s at 5.30pm and racing from 6.00pm.
